The Pumas 7's managed to advance to the semifinals after two victories and one defeat in the fight for the world title. Meanwhile, the Yaguaretés, who are aiming to enter the new Division 2, keep their chances alive after a key win.
In the men's team, under the direction of Santiago Gómez Cora, a narrow victory was gained against Great Britain by 33 to 26 and subsequently defeated France by 17 to 12. Despite losing to South Africa by 29 to 21 in the group stage, they secured their classification to the semifinals. In their next challenge, they will face Spain, in a match scheduled for tomorrow at 17:24 hours (Argentinian time).
The Pumas 7's suffered significant losses, with the absence of scrum-half Santiago Mare due to a knee injury and fullback Marcos Moneta due to an eye problem, both ruled out for the next match.
As for the Yaguaretés, led by Nahuel García, they started with a defeat against China by 25 to 0, but managed to recover with a win over Ireland by 20 to 12. Their last match in the group stage will be against South Africa, a decisive game for their future in the tournament.
In the women's Play Off, the first team from the group will get a direct pass to Division 2, while the second and third will compete in an extra match for a spot in the new competition. The team that finishes in the last position will have to participate in regional tournaments in an attempt to access the Challenger Series.
