River will be in Group E alongside Independiente del Valle from Ecuador, Universitario from Peru, and Barcelona from Ecuador. On the other hand, Racing is in Group D with Colo-Colo from Chile, Fortaleza from Brazil, and Atlético Bucaramanga from Colombia.
River Plate, one of the favorites for the title, will debut on Wednesday, April 2, visiting Universitario in Peru. Meanwhile, Racing will begin its participation on Tuesday, April 1, facing Fortaleza in Brazil.
The Argentine teams already know their complete match calendar. River will play against Barcelona in Ecuador, Colo Colo in Chile, and will close the group stage by visiting Independiente del Valle in Ecuador. Racing, for its part, will face Colo-Colo in Argentina, Atlético Bucaramanga in Colombia, and Fortaleza in Argentina.
Both River Plate and Racing aim to advance to the knockout rounds starting in August with the Round of 16. The Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and the Final, the latter in a single match with no confirmed venue, will take place in September, October, and November, respectively. The top two teams from each group will advance to the next phase in search of the 2025 Copa Libertadores title.
