
Three Argentine players, Mac Allister, Otamendi, and Palacios, were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League. Of the nine Argentine footballers who participated in the matches this Tuesday, only two managed to advance in the European tournament.
One of the players who was left out of the competition was Alexis Mac Allister, who played for Brighton & Hove Albion in the loss to Liverpool. Nicolás Otamendi, defender of Benfica, was also eliminated after falling to PSV Eindhoven. Additionally, Exequiel Palacios, midfielder of Bayer Leverkusen, was knocked out after losing to Real Sociedad.
"I am very disappointed to be eliminated from the Champions League, it is a very important competition and we always want to go as far as possible," Palacios expressed after his team's elimination.
Despite these exits, Ángel Di María and Lautaro Martínez managed to advance to the round of 16 with Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan respectively.
The next phase of the Champions League will bring together the best teams in Europe in an exciting battle for the title.
