The football club River Plate has reached an agreement with its coach Marcelo Gallardo to pay him an amount of 2.5 million dollars for his second contract. This amount represents approximately half of what the club paid in the first cycle of the coach, thus consolidating Gallardo's continuity at the helm of the team.
According to close sources, Gallardo's new contract establishes an annual salary of around 3 million dollars, with a term until December 2022. This agreement comes after intense negotiations between the club and the coach, and it is expected to be formalized in the coming days.
"I am very happy to continue working at River Plate. I have always said that this is my place, and this is where I want to be," expressed Marcelo Gallardo regarding the extension of his contract. With this new agreement, the Argentine club ensures the continuity of one of the most successful coaches in its recent history, who has led the team to win numerous local and international titles.
