Boca's coach, Fernando Gago, expressed the importance of looking ahead and striving to achieve something significant with the club, after the 3-0 victory over Central Córdoba from Santiago del Estero in the ninth round of the Torneo Apertura of the Professional Football League.
In the match played as a visitor on Friday night, the 'Xeneize' team shone against the 'Ferroviario', recovering after the recent elimination in the Copa Libertadores de América against Alianza Lima from Peru. Gago emphasized the need to continue winning every match, both at home and away, setting this goal for the future.
The former footballer also highlighted the performance of young forward Milton Delgado, noting his growth and contribution to the team in his position. He stated: "He is experiencing significant growth, he is in a good moment overall, at the level he shows in each match, it is very good for me because it raises the level of everyone in that position."
Referring to the level of play shown, Gago explained: "The match was played the way we wanted to play, breaking the pressure line they could generate and having the possibility to finish inside or outside." He also shared his perspective on Edinson Cavani's goal drought, trusting that the goal will come at the right moment.
The coach highlighted the importance of the work done during the week and the improvement in the individual performance of each player. He assured that the team is in construction and particularly valued the performance in the first half of the match, under adverse weather conditions to which they were able to adapt satisfactorily.
