Youth Development at Independiente

The coordinator of the youth divisions of Independiente, Hugo Tocalli, expressed his satisfaction with the integration of young talents into the first team led by Julio Vaccari. Tocalli pointed out that, due to the inhibition of Cázares, they cannot register five newly arrived players for higher categories, but he trusts that the management will resolve the debt so these young players can play.

Tocalli also highlighted the project he leads at Independiente, where they have reduced the age of players in the Reserve and seek for the starters to play at least 25 matches a year for their development. He emphasized the role of the youth divisions to nourish the Reserve and prepare players for the first team.

Regarding individual performances, Hugo Tocalli particularly praised the central defender Kevin Lomónaco from the first team, highlighting his quality both in marking and with ball distribution. He also noted the smooth communication between the first team and the youth divisions, and the joint work with Vaccari and his coaching staff for player development.

Currently, the young players trained at the Santo Domingo facility in Villa Domínico have gained an important place in the first team under the direction of Julio Vaccari. Names like Diego Tarzia, Lautaro Millán, and Santiago Hidalgo are regulars in the team that currently ranks second in Group B of the Liga Profesional de Fútbol Apertura Tournament, being key pieces in the coach's scheme.

Tocalli highlights the success of the project by having several young players working in both the first team and the Reserve, such as Bordón, De Irastorza, Taborda, and others, which demonstrates the development and promotion of talents from the youth divisions in Independiente.
