Racing wins the 2025 Recopa Sudamericana

Racing is crowned champion of the 2025 Recopa Sudamericana after defeating Botafogo 2-0. The goals were scored by Matías Zaracho and Bruno Zuculini, securing their second title under the management of Gustavo Costas.

The second leg of the 2025 Recopa Sudamericana between Racing and Botafogo took place at the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium. Racing was crowned champion after defeating Botafogo with a final score of 2-0 (4-0 on aggregate) in a match where they demonstrated authority and defensive solidity.

During the course of the match, Maximiliano Salas and Martirena from the Argentine team troubled the Brazilian defense with missed shots and crosses into the area. Matías Zaracho opened the scoring with a deflected shot that he took advantage of to put Racing in the lead, followed by Bruno Zuculini, who sealed the match with a powerful right-footed strike.

Throughout the game, Salas and other Racing players continued to generate danger in the rival goal, with shots that required good interventions from the Brazilian goalkeeper. The solid defense and control of the match kept Racing in a dominant position, culminating in Zuculini's goal that secured the victory and the crowning in the Recopa Sudamericana.

This triumph marked the second title under the direction of Gustavo Costas for Racing, who had previously won the 2024 Copa Sudamericana. With this result, Racing adds its eighth international title to its successful sports history.
