
As of now, only 28 spots remain available in the Copa Libertadores, as the remaining four will be decided among the eight teams that reached Phase 3 of the playoffs. The teams competing in this final stage include Alianza Lima, Deportes Iquique, Bahía, Boston River, Cerro Porteño, Melgar, Barcelona, and Corinthians.
So far, teams like Botafogo, Palmeiras, Flamengo, Peñarol, Nacional, São Paulo, River, Racing, Olimpia, Liga de Quito, Internacional, Libertad, Independiente del Valle, Colo Colo, Estudiantes, Bolívar, Atlético Nacional, Vélez, Fortaleza, Sporting Cristal, Universitario, Talleres, Deportivo Táchira, Universidad de Chile, Carabobo, Bucaramanga, Bulo Bulo, and Central Córdoba have secured their spots in the Copa Libertadores.
Regarding the Copa Sudamericana, 44 teams have already qualified. Therefore, it is still expected to know which teams will advance to each competition and which will have to play the final phase of the playoffs to aspire to victory.
The Copa Libertadores will feature a total of 32 competing teams, and the date for the group stage draw is approaching. Meanwhile, those teams that do not advance in Phase 3 will have a guaranteed spot in the Copa Sudamericana, thus increasing the number of competitors to 48 in the coming days.
In the first stage of the playoffs, clubs from all federations, excluding Argentina and Brazil, will face off in single-elimination matches against a team from their own country. The victorious teams will secure their place in the group stage, ensuring participation from at least two teams from each nation.
Among the teams competing are Godoy Cruz, Independiente, Huracán, Unión, Lanús, Defensa y Justicia, Universitario de Vinto, Aurora, Nacional de Potosí, San José, Cruzeiro, Vasco da Gama, Vitória, Atlético Mineiro, Fluminense, Grêmio, among others.
