Racing Club is crowned champion of the 2025 Recopa Sudamericana by defeating Botafogo 2-0 (4-0 on aggregate). The second leg was played at the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium. The goals were scored by Matías Zaracho and Bruno Zuculini.
In a very competitive first half, Maximiliano Salas and Matías Zaracho had clear scoring opportunities that were saved by the opposing goalkeeper. However, it was Bruno Zuculini who opened the scoring with a powerful right-footed shot.
Racing continued to apply pressure and in the 25th minute sealed the match with a goal from Matías Zaracho. With a solid defense and good control of the game, the Argentine team took the victory with authority.
This triumph in the Recopa Sudamericana represents the second title won by Racing under the management of Gustavo Costas and the eighth in its history. The team once again demonstrated its hierarchy and footballing quality on the international stage.
Botafogo, on the other hand, failed to find answers to Racing Club's gameplay and was surpassed in both matches of the final. Despite their efforts, they could not avoid the defeat that crowned the Argentines as champions.
