Rodrigo Villagra's Transfer Saga Continues

Midfielder Rodrigo Villagra, who has already agreed to leave River Plate, might join the CSKA Moscow team. After a recent problem with investor Foster Gillett, the player is now looking for a new direction in his football career.

Villagra, 24 years old, found himself in a complicated situation when it was reported that River Plate had apparently sold him to the Foster Group for 11.5 million dollars. However, the Argentine club did not receive the agreed amount, and the operation stalled.

In this scenario, Marcelo Gallardo's team decided to dispense with Villagra, who has been training on his own in Rosario. Seeking a solution, CSKA Moscow presented an offer of 6 million dollars plus 1 million in bonus for achieved objectives, which River Plate has not yet approved.

The Russian club aims to acquire the entirety of the midfielder's transfer, while River Plate prefers to retain 20% of his transfer fee. Negotiations between both parties will continue with two virtual meetings scheduled for this week to define the details of the operation.

Foster Gillett's representative in Argentina, Guillermo Tofoni, stated that there was no signed agreement with River Plate regarding Villagra. In a dialogue with Beo Sports, Tofoni assured that despite the conversations held, no deal was finalized with the Argentine club.

In this context of uncertainty, Rodrigo Villagra is anxiously waiting to resolve his sporting future and to take a new step in his professional career. The possibility of joining CSKA Moscow appears to be an attractive option for the young footballer in search of new opportunities.
