Player Ian Subiabre from River Plate has caught the attention of several European clubs due to his skill, speed, and ability to disrupt on the field. Teams like Chelsea, Villarreal, and Atletico Madrid have shown interest in the forward after closely following his performance during the qualifying tournament in Venezuela.
After the victory over San Martín de San Juan, Marcelo Gallardo, coach of River, mentioned in a press conference the inclusion of the Under-20 players from the team in the list of called-up players, including Subiabre. He expressed: 'Beyond the freshness of the kids who have done well in the tournament, we intended that as soon as the Sudamericano ended, they would join us.' He also added that the young players have energy and adapt well to the team's work.
Despite the interest from foreign clubs, it is expected that 18-year-old Subiabre will integrate into River's professional squad and compete for a spot in the starting eleven. Chelsea from England has shown serious interest in signing the player, and it has been revealed that the English club has begun talks to negotiate his transfer, with a meeting planned in London next week between Chelsea's sports director and the player's agent.
Subiabre was one of the standout figures in the team led by Diego Placente during the Under-20 Sudamericano, where Argentina secured qualification for the World Cup of the category that will be held in Chile.
