Valentín Gómez's Transfer to Udinese Falls Through

The transfer of Argentine defender Valentín Gómez to Udinese has collapsed due to missed payment deadlines, forcing him to return to Vélez amid poor team performance.

Valentín Gómez's Transfer to Udinese Falls Through

The Argentine central defender Valentín Gómez will not complete his transfer to Udinese in Italy, as businessman Foster Gillett did not make the payment for the transfer fee before the deadline, forcing the player to return to Vélez. Gillett had agreed to purchase the 21-year-old defender for 8.5 million dollars, but the money never reached the accounts of the Argentine club.

Gómez had been training on his own while waiting for confirmation of the payment to join the Italian team with his new teammates, but the transfer fell through. This setback represents the second time his move to Europe has been frustrated, after previously failing a medical exam with "City Group."

The young defender trained at Vélez will have to return to the club that saw him grow, in the midst of a difficult moment for the institution on the sports front. Currently, Vélez is in the last position of Zone B of the Liga Profesional de Fútbol's Apertura Tournament, unable to achieve victories in seven matches (two draws and five losses) and failing to score goals, while conceding eleven.

The negative results cast doubt on the continuity of the current head coach of the team, Sebastián Domínguez, who is a former defender of the club.
