Los Pumas 7's ready for the Vancouver Sevens

The Argentine rugby team, Los Pumas 7's, is preparing to face the next challenge in the World Rugby Sevens Circuit following their recent victory in Perth. The team will seek to extend its dominance in the Vancouver Sevens, which will take place from February 21 to 23. In this edition, Argentina shares Group A with France, Great Britain, and Kenya, hoping to maintain their unbeaten streak on Canadian soil.

The team, led by Santiago Gómez Cora, will debut against Kenya on Friday at 18:08 (Argentine time) and will subsequently face Great Britain at 23:55. The group stage will conclude on Saturday at 17:20 with a crucial match against France in search of advancing to the decisive rounds.

In recent years, Los Pumas 7's have had an impressive record in the Vancouver tournament, having played 18 matches since 2022, with 17 wins and only one draw. The Argentine team has managed to make this tournament their second home, winning three consecutive titles in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Despite the injury of coach Santiago Gómez Cora, which will keep him away from the matches, the Argentine team is in first place in the World Circuit alongside Fiji and Spain, each with 48 points, after the circuits in Dubai, Cape Town, and Perth. With the firm intention of defending their title and continuing to be a powerhouse in rugby sevens, Los Pumas 7's face this new challenge with the ambition of achieving their fourth consecutive championship.

With a solid squad and increasingly mature play, the Argentine rugby team is hopeful of continuing to add titles in the World Circuit and consolidating its position as one of the great powers in this discipline.
