Facundo Sava Leaves Atlético Tucumán After Defeat

Coach Facundo Sava will no longer be the manager of Atlético Tucumán after the match against Rosario Central. The decision comes after a 3-0 defeat to Riestra in the third round of the Liga Profesional Apertura Tournament, marking the end of his cycle. Sava expressed his dissatisfaction at the post-match press conference, questioning the state of the playing field and suggesting that the club needed to reconsider several issues.

In his statements, the coach expressed his concern about the team's performance: “These were the two worst matches I’ve directed while being here. I’m worried because I hadn’t felt what I felt in these matches before.” It has been reported that the lack of response from the management to his complaints and the feeling that the team's football situation is irreversible have been decisive in his decision to step away.

Facundo Sava confirmed his resignation in conversations with various media, though he avoided giving details about the specific reasons for his departure. He only mentioned that he was asked to coach the following day because they were very focused on the match. Since his arrival in March 2024, Sava managed 38 matches, with a record of 14 wins, nine draws, and 15 losses. He will be the second head coach to leave his position in 2025, while the team is already considering options for his successor.

One of the main candidates to take over the position is Ricardo Zielinski, who had a successful tenure at the club in the past. Zielinski managed 124 matches at Atlético Tucumán, achieving a 50.27% effectiveness rate during his previous spell at the helm of the team.
