The Argentine Under-20 team has secured a place in the final hexagonal of the South American Championship of the category after Ecuador suffered a defeat against Brazil by 3-2. Following this result, the Argentine team has positioned itself among the top six teams of the tournament. In this stage, it leads with 7 points in Group B, followed by Colombia, which has also qualified with the same number of points.

In Group A, Uruguay is the only team that has maintained a perfect score and is already classified. Meanwhile, Chile, Paraguay, and Venezuela find themselves in a more competitive situation with 6, 6, and 3 points respectively. These three teams will compete in the last round of the group stage in a decisive match for a spot in the final hexagonal.
