Sarmiento and Godoy Cruz End in Goalless Draw

In the second round of the 2025 Apertura Tournament, Sarmiento and Godoy Cruz drew 0-0 in a match held at the Eva Perón stadium. Despite the opportunities created, neither team was able to break the deadlock.

The home team, Sarmiento, showed more attacking threat throughout the match, particularly highlighted by defender Gabriel Díaz's actions. Although they could not capitalize on the goal-scoring chances, Sarmiento sits in ninth position in Zone B with one point and remains in 28th place in the average points table.

On the other hand, Godoy Cruz, known as "Tomba," is in eleventh place in their zone with one point after the draw in this match.

One of the first dangerous chances was created by Sarmiento in the 12th minute, when midfielder Federico Paradela shot a volley from the edge of the area that went wide. Paradela had two more opportunities to score, but goalkeeper Franco Petroli denied him on both occasions.

In the 32nd minute, Godoy Cruz had their only dangerous play with a long-range shot from Lucas Arce that went close to the goal defended by Lucas Acosta. Despite the efforts from both teams, the score remained unchanged.

In the second half, Sarmiento came close to scoring four minutes in with a header from Pablo Magnin, which was ultimately ruled out for offside. Then, in the 22nd minute, the home team missed a clear goal opportunity after a shot from Paradela that was again saved by Petroli.

The Godoy Cruz goalkeeper excelled again by deflecting a shot from Gabriel Díaz, following a good run by Alex Vigo. Despite the efforts of both teams, the match ended in a draw, leaving both teams with one point in the tournament.
