The Boca Juniors club officially announced the arrival of central defender Rodrigo Battaglia as a new reinforcement, coming from Atlético Mineiro in Brazil. The 33-year-old footballer was enthusiastically welcomed by the team, which shared a picture of Battaglia on social media with a welcome message.
"Fernando was a mirror for me. I admire him a lot and I'm happy that he is my coach," said the defender about his new coach at Boca Juniors. Battaglia expressed excitement about joining the team and meeting his teammates, as well as debuting in the Copa Argentina and in the 2025 season officially against Argentino Monte Maíz.
The player expressed his happiness about joining Boca and his admiration for Fernando Gago, now his head coach. Battaglia signed with the Argentine club for the next three seasons and has already integrated into training under Gago's direction since his arrival in the country on January 13.
After undergoing the necessary medical examinations, the defender was pleased with this important step in his career and is preparing to join the team in its upcoming commitments, including the match against Argentinos Juniors at La Bombonera.
