Sebastián Driussi Returns to River Plate

On Monday, River Plate officially announced the return of Sebastián Driussi, following the announcement of the return of right-back Gonzalo Montiel. Driussi returned to the club from Austin FC in the United States league, after intense negotiations between the teams, with an agreement that involved a payment of 10 million dollars by River.

Estudiantes de La Plata, with intermediary Foster Gillet, was also interested in signing the 28-year-old player, but Driussi was clear that if he returned to Argentina, it would be to wear the River Plate jersey again. Finally, the forward joined the team, being welcomed with a video on the club's social networks, in which he is welcomed back to "home."

In an emotional moment, Driussi posed for the cameras alongside the club's president, Jorge Brito, head coach Marcelo Gallardo, and defender Gonzalo Montiel, who was also presented that day. After seven years since his departure, Driussi returned to the team with a long career ahead of him, in which he hopes to continue achieving success with River Plate.

In 2020, during an Instagram live with Gonzalo "Pity" Martínez, Driussi joked about a possible return to the Núñez club, assuring that he would come back at "27 or 28 years old." This return is now becoming a reality, fulfilling the promise he made himself, which River Plate celebrated by sharing a photo of the player on their social media with the caption "promise fulfilled."
