According to a survey conducted in April by the consultancy firm Zuban Córdoba, 60.7% of Argentines reject the possibility of re-election for President Javier Milei, while 29.4% say they would support him for a new term. The sampling, conducted on a universe of 2,200 cases nationwide, highlights a 'deterioration in the electoral legitimacy conditions of the ruling party,' and states that 'the core of support for the President is sustained by trust in his leadership (47.0%) and a reactive dimension associated with anti-Peronism (21.6%)'. Among the reasons for rejecting Milei's management, respondents' perception of 'bad economic management' stands out at 47.0%, followed by 'failure to keep promises' at 24.7%, and 'corruption cases' at 21.5%. The same consultancy firm highlights in its report that 'demands for political renewal (62.4%) and the construction of more moderate alternatives (46.4%) are consolidating.' Likewise, it is observed that 'within Milei's original electorate, signs of wear are emerging: 33.9% declare they have reduced or withdrawn their support, mainly due to the economic situation.' The survey also asked respondents who said they would support Milei's re-election in 2027 for their reasons. 47% answered that they trust 'his leadership,' 21.6% said they have 'fear of a Peronist alternative,' 20.2% said the President 'has better policies,' and 7.9% because they 'consider him honest.' Among the 60% who said they would not vote for him for a second presidency, 47% argued his 'bad management,' 24.7% complained about 'unfulfilled promises,' 21.5% mentioned 'corruption cases,' and 3.5% said Milei has 'little leadership.' On the other hand, 48.2% said they would support 'an alliance between several parties to beat Milei,' while 37.1% would disagree with that electoral alternative. 46% of those surveyed said they would vote for a 'more moderate center' space than the current government (37.1% rejected it), and 62.4% affirmed that Argentina 'needs a new candidate who is not linked to any of the current parties' (with 25.1% in disagreement). When asked if 'Milei should join PRO, UCR, and several provincial parties' to be re-elected, 39.3% disagreed, while 30.4% agreed with that electoral strategy. On the opposition side, when asked if 'Peronism should ally with provincial forces to beat Milei,' 47.4% of respondents answered they 'agree,' while only 28.9% said they disagree with this possibility. Among Milei's voters in the 2023 runoff, support 'decreased' mainly due to the country's economic situation, with 47.7%, while 18.9% argued 'unfulfilled promises' by the government, and 12.7% mentioned 'corruption cases'.
