The Vice Governor of Tucumán, Miguel Acevedo, confirmed the suspension of the bidding process to restore the old Legislature building and the reallocation of those funds to the provincial Strategic Water Plan.
According to the official, the measure responds to the need to define and execute priority works to mitigate flooding in the province.
«From the Legislature, we will contribute the necessary funds,» he stated, in remarks that were shared in a post by La Gaceta.
Acevedo detailed that the resources earmarked for the renovation of the property located at Sarmiento Avenue 655 will be allocated to the development of the water plan.
«We have decided to invest the funds that were originally intended for the renovation and remodeling of the old Legislature building,» he noted.
The initiative aims to complete the design of the Strategic Water Plan before resuming any intervention on the historic building, in line with a prioritization of structural works related to flood prevention, as reported by the Argentine News Agency.
