The government of Javier Milei has just created an official response office to deny what it considers lies by the media. A phrase attributed to Albert Einstein fits perfectly to describe that definition: “There are two things that are infinite: the Universe and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the Universe”. Certain types of governments become obsessed with the press and commit this kind of nonsense. The Kirchners had already invented a satrapy called NODIO, which only served for Miriam Lewin to have a salary and to clarify things with Kirchnerist lies. Governments are not arbiters of the truth and often lie. In the civilized world, the responses are different, rulers give interviews and clarify what seems right to them, and, despite that, they often lie. Lying is part of politics. The typical case is when a medium denounces a corruption case, the first thing the government does is deny it, and that is a form of lying because they deny without information, and later we find out that a man is throwing bags of money into a convent. The one who first denied the accusation, lied. There is something of an underestimation of the citizen in the creation of these monstrosities as if they thought that the average citizen is incapable of discerning, most citizens realize when they are lied to and governments tend to discredit those who denounce them. The case of Jorge Lanata was emblematic, the Kirchners denied and denigrated him, but people believed the journalist, and time later, it was proven that everything he denounced was true. In the time between the complaint and the ruling of Justice, politicians lie. Even in trials, they lie. The uselessness of the invention only brings discredit, all over the world the news came out that the government was encouraging an attack on freedom of expression. Of course, everyone points out that Donald Trump did the same, insinuating that Milei imitates Trump. The whole invention resembles what George Orwell told when describing the Ministry of Truth. Of course, I have no doubts, that from that new office the government will lie at some point. We live in an era in which social networks and artificial intelligence impose millions of lies daily. The curious thing is that the government's followers use those tools and lie on many occasions. The government sets up a ridiculous response office and its followers have a free pass to lie. Nonsense wears down. The government has enormous challenges to lose time on these things. And we have to repeat again and again to the point of exhaustion: anything that is done that resembles Kirchnerism is bad. This week there were two, the INDEC issue and the creation of the ridiculous office. The people of republican spirit who went to La Libertad Avanza (LLA) should speak out against this idiocy. It is not good to do politics by mimicking things that threaten freedom of expression. __IP__I hope this article gets a response from the new organism. Argentina has many problems to dedicate itself to such nonsense. Special for Agencia Noticias Argentinas
Argentina's Government Creates Office to Deny News
Argentina's government under Javier Milei has established a new body to counter what it deems false media reports. The author compares this to Orwell's Ministry of Truth, arguing such actions undermine freedom of speech and underestimate citizens' intelligence, recalling tactics of previous administrations.
