The La Libertad Avanza and PRO blocs are advancing in forming an inter-block in the Chamber of Deputies that will allow them to achieve the first minority status, which will facilitate the passage of the structural initiatives pushed by the Government. This bloc combination will reach 115 deputies, 81 from La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and 24 from PRO, parliamentary sources informed the Argentine News Agency. With this number, the ruling coalition will have a majority in the committees and the presidencies of these parliamentary bodies, which are the key to passing laws. The formation of this inter-bloc began to be designed in a meeting held today between the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, and the head of the PRO bloc, Cristian Ritondo. Parliamentary sources indicated that Ritondo stated he has no intention of being president of the Chamber of Deputies, the body in which the Riojan Menem is set to be re-elected. Ritondo is trying to keep all the deputies together because there is a group of Bullrichist legislators who were trying to form another bloc within the inter-bloc, under the impulse of Damián Arabia. According to these sources, the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, is “helping” Ritondo to keep the bloc united, which is made up of about ten legislators aligned behind the official and about 14 who answer to the president of the Buenos Aires PRO. Regarding the role that the re-elected deputy Diego Santilli will have, they stated that he will only be a legislator since he wants to focus on touring the province in his goal of being a candidate for governor in 2027. In the ruling coalition, they trust that with the final count they may add one more deputy, but they still have to wait for the results in the city of Buenos Aires and Santa Cruz. Parliamentary sources told this agency that they expect to have allies such as the six radicals who answer to the governors Alfredo Cornejo and Leandro Zdero, of Mendoza and Chaco, respectively; another legislator from Entre Ríos and the Buenos Aires Karina Banfi. They also expect to have the support of the seven deputies from Federal Innovation, Freedom and Future, and some from United Provinces. United Provinces will have about 17 legislators since it will have two from Buenos Aires, six from Córdoba, three from Santa Fe, two from Jujuy, two from Buenos Aires, one from Corrientes, and one from Santa Cruz. Another doubt that existed in the halls of Congress is what position the deputies who answer to the Peronist governors of Catamarca, Raúl Jalil; of Tucumán, Osvaldo Jaldo, and the K Peronism of Santiago del Estero will assume.
