Governors Meeting in Entre Ríos

The governors of various Argentine provinces will meet in Entre Ríos to discuss the repercussions of recent economic measures by the national government on their finances. The summit, organized together with the Federal Investment Council (CFI), will feature prominent figures such as Sergio Kaufman, Tamara Rubilar, and Analía Cubino.

During the meeting, three thematic panels will take place. The first will address "Financing for development" with the participation of Esteban Rodríguez, Leonardo Toloza, and Juan Berisso Buchanan. The second will focus on "The productive future of Argentina", with the intervention of Fernando Vilella, Gustavo Puccini, and other specialists.

The closing will be dedicated to "Innovation, knowledge economy, and startups" with the participation of figures like Carlos Pallotti and Luciano Filipuzzi. The presence of several governors at this event marks a new point of tension in the relationship between the central government and the provinces, which demand greater predictability and institutional dialogue.

Provincial leaders, with different political affiliations, seek to address their growing dissatisfaction with unilateral decisions made by the national government, such as changes to the VAT retention scheme at Customs and modifications to the payment of income tax advances. The drop in national revenue, evidenced by official data showing a decrease of 8.2% in real terms in March, further exacerbates the situation. The Minister of Economy of Buenos Aires, Pablo López, has warned about the weak performance of national revenue due to the stagnant economic activity.
