The national deputy of PRO, Damián Arabia, close to Minister of Security Patricia Bullrich, made statements during the session in the Chamber of Deputies. On the other hand, the national deputy of the Left Front, Christian Castillo, referred to the government as a "fraud and a briber" in relation to the "crypto scam" $Libra.
At the beginning of the session, Javier Sánchez Wrba, a leader of PRO from the province of Buenos Aires, took office as a national deputy in place of Hernán Lombardi, who was appointed as Minister of Economic Development of the City of Buenos Aires. Sánchez Wrba stood out as parliamentary pro-secretary in the Senate block, maintaining contact with the press accredited in Congress.
The session was in danger due to lack of quorum, especially after the decision of the Civic Radical Union block not to contribute. However, with 130 deputies present, the session finally began with contributions from various blocks such as Unión por la Patria, Democracia para Siempre, Encuentro Federal, the Civic Coalition, and the Left Front.
The Chamber of Deputies approved the establishment of the Committees on Constitutional Affairs and Petitions to discuss the bills related to the promotion of the crypto asset $Libra and President Javier Milei. It was agreed to hold meetings on Tuesday, March 18, and Wednesday, March 19, to draft opinions on these proposals.
Unión por la Patria, Democracia para Siempre, Encuentro Federal, the Civic Coalition, the Left Front, and a sector of UCR are pushing to investigate the political responsibilities in the case of Libra. On the other hand, a proposal for impeachment against Milei was rejected with 104 votes in favor and 128 against. The only support came from Unión por la Patria, the left, and the socialist deputies from Encuentro Federal.
