Union Women Criticize President Milei

The Women Trade Unionists of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) have expressed a vigorous rejection of the speech delivered by President Javier Milei at the Davos Forum. In a statement titled "We repudiate the violent, false, and discriminatory expressions made by the president in Davos," they harshly criticized the President's statements, which they consider offensive and contrary to democratic values.

They demanded that the president focus on serving the most vulnerable sectors, such as retirees, workers, women, children, and diverse communities, instead of paying attention to matters that, according to them, respond to interests other than the well-being of the citizenry. In addition, they criticized his message for being "plagued with unfounded claims, full of violence, prejudice, and resentment."

The Women Trade Unionists also highlighted their commitment to defending values that promote peaceful coexistence in a world marked by conflicts of various kinds. In this regard, they called for mobilization on the upcoming March 8, International Women’s Day, where they plan to protest "against the hollowing out of the State and its functions," advocate for the national industry as a source of employment, and demand decent wages, which they currently consider among the lowest on the continent.

The statement concludes with a call to action in defense of the rights and welfare of the most vulnerable sectors of society.
