ANMAT Warns About Unauthorized Dental Brackets

The ANMAT alerts about unregistered dental brackets that may pose health risks to patients. Consumers are urged to verify product authenticity and consult only authorized health professionals.

ANMAT Warns About Unauthorized Dental Brackets

The National Administration of Medicines, Foods and Medical Technology (ANMAT) has detected brackets of the MERIT brand that do not have registration or known origin. These products, which pretend to be authorized in other countries, pose a risk as they could be counterfeit or tampered with and have not been evaluated to confirm their suitability for human use.

The lack of sanitary registration and identification according to national regulations makes it difficult to trace and verify these brackets, which could expose patients to a health risk if used. Therefore, patients are urged to undergo dental treatments only in establishments authorized by the health authority and with responsible professionals who ensure the quality and safety of the products used.

To protect patients, it is recommended to check the identification of the products, which must include detailed information such as the brand, manufacturer, importer, address of the responsible party in Argentina, and the registration number with ANMAT. Health professionals are also urged to acquire registered medical products and have the documentation of origin and corresponding user manuals.

ANMAT will continue to monitor to ensure the safety of medical products in the market and protect public health. If you have purchased these brackets or have information about them, consultation and reporting channels have been established such as the email pesquisa@anmat.gob.ar, responde@anmat.gob.ar, or the telephone number 0800-333-1234.
