Capioví: The most Christmas town in Argentina

In the town of Capioví, Argentina, a beautiful Christmas tradition has emerged that has made the locality a festive reference in the country. It all started in 2009 when a group from the Family Catechesis of the San Luis Gonzaga Parish decided to take inspiration from the Christmas decorations using plastic bottles in Brazil.

Since then, the community of Capioví has come together every December to beautify the city with ornaments made mainly of recycled materials, contributing to environmental care. In this latest edition, 80 residents participated, reusing around 9,000 bottles to create colorful and creative Christmas ornaments.

In addition to the ecological dimension of the initiative, the Christmas decorations have also strengthened community ties in Capioví. The voluntary collaboration of the entire population has allowed the city to fill with life and color during the festivities, attracting visitors from all over Argentina.

Creativity and recycling come together in this project that has turned Capioví into the most Christmas-like town in the country. Plaza Los Pioneros is adorned with a 10-meter tall Christmas tree, while San Luis Gonzaga Avenue is artistically intervened to celebrate Christmas in an unforgettable way.

"Christmas is a social act that generates feelings of peace and love, recovering belonging through sharing moments with family," said the organizers. Every year, the Christmas spirit unites the inhabitants of Capioví in carrying out various tasks to bring the celebration to life, creating a special atmosphere filled with meaning and emotion.

With more than ten years of history, this tradition continues to grow in Capioví. Christmas music has been added to the festivities, with the local band playing melodies to accompany the colorful decorations that flood the city during the month of December. Undoubtedly, this initiative demonstrates how effort and love for the community can transform a town into a unique and charming Christmas destination.
