Controversy Erupts at Entre Ríos Carnival Over Animal Abuse Incident

During the third day of the festival in Entre Ríos, a parade of comparsas was marred by an incident in which a batuquero from the comparsa Papelitos hit a dog with a stick in the middle of the track. More than 15,000 people attended the event, but the uproar began when a video of the aggression was published on social media.

The Club Deportivo Juventud Unida issued a statement lamenting the action of the comparsa member and stating that the excitement of the show does not justify animal abuse. It has not yet been reported whether the responsible person is still part of the comparsa.

The incident generated outrage in the community, with the organization Güiba requesting assistance to find the abused dog, named Chicle. The board of Juventud Unida apologized for what happened and assured that they would take necessary measures, reiterating their absolute rejection of animal abuse.
