The Justice system confirmed the bankruptcy of Alimentos Refrigerados Sociedad Anónima (ARSA), the company that produced yogurts and desserts under license from SanCor Cooperativas Unidas Ltda. The bankruptcy of the firm that produced SanCor yogurts and desserts came after the failure of its preventive reorganization. The closure of its plants in Buenos Aires and Córdoba leaves 400 workers unemployed and deepens the crisis in the dairy sector. Among the company's products were yogurt lines such as Yogs and Primeros Sabores, as well as traditional desserts like homemade SanCor flans, Shimy, Sancorito, Sublime, and Vida, which for decades were part of the table for many Argentine families. The company, acquired by a holding linked to the Vicentin Group, had accumulated debts with suppliers, transporters, and employees, with salary delays since 2023 and repeated suspensions. ARSA operated two key plants: one in Arenaza, Lincoln district (Buenos Aires), with about 180 employees; and another in Monte Cristo (Córdoba), where around 200 people worked. The company attributed the bankruptcy to the national economic context: falling consumption, high inflation, rising raw milk costs, devaluations, and price control policies like the 'Just Prices' program implemented in 2023. However, dairy sector representatives point to structural and management problems, as well as possible irregularities in the bankruptcy process. The financial situation continued to deteriorate, and in April 2024, the company requested preventive reorganization. Rumors about potential interested parties, such as Inverlat, the owners of Havanna, or the Werthein and CarVal groups, did not materialize. Finally, Judge Federico Güerri, of Commercial Court No. 29, Secretariat 58, ordered total liquidation, with asset seizure and fund embargoes. ARSA was responsible for producing SanCor's well-known refrigerated dairy products. The impact also reaches communities such as Sunchales and Lincoln, historically linked to dairy activity. Many of the laid-off workers had more than 30 years of seniority at the former SanCor, which deepens the social impact of the measure. The company was created in 2016 to acquire SanCor's refrigerated products division for approximately 100 million dollars. In 2019, investors associated with Vicentin and the BAF Capital fund took control with the promise of modernizing and sustaining the dessert and yogurt line. However, two and a half years ago, management was transferred to the Venezuelan firm Maralac S.A., whose executives also manage La Suipachense. The oversupply of milk, export restrictions, and imbalances in the payment chain would have aggravated the situation of an already weakened company. The failure to complete a sale, partly conditioned by judicial causes linked to Vicentin, ultimately sealed the fate of the historic firm. The ruling, issued in November 2025, puts an end to an extensive crisis process that culminated in the dismissal of around 400 workers. The ruling came after the failure of the preventive reorganization initiated in April 2024.
