Argentina's markets closed the week with increases in stocks and ADRs, despite mixed trends in government bonds. The country's risk index dropped slightly, signaling slight investor optimism amidst economic uncertainty.


Argentina's Markets End the Week with Gains

The markets closed the week with gains in stocks and ADRs, while government bonds traded with mixed trends. The country risk index measured by J.P. Morgan stood at 739 basis points, about 9 units below Thursday's close. For the weekly balance, the indicator measuring investment risk rose by 6.79%.

In the local market, sovereign bonds mostly closed lower, led by Global 2041 (-1.9%), followed by Global 2046 (-0.9%) and Bonar 2038 (-0.5%). Meanwhile, the biggest gainers were Global 2029 (+1.4%) and Bonar 2035 (+0.8%).

Internationally, economic uncertainty impacted the markets and created high volatility. On Wall Street, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq are down over 8% and 12%, respectively, since February's highs.

In the local market, the BYMA leading index rebounded 4.6% to 2,335,574.83 units, marking a 3.2% increase for the week. While, measured in dollars, it rose 4.1% to 1,883.71 points, its highest value since March. In the last five trading days, it accumulated a 1.6% increase in hard currency.

In the leading panel, the top advancing stocks were Grupo Supervielle (+9%), Transportadora de Gas del Sur (+8.3%), Loma Negra (+7.3%), and YPF (+6.3%). In Wall Street, among local papers, notable gains included Grupo Supervielle with 8.1%, followed by Transportadora de Gas del Sur with 6.9%, and YPF with 6.1%.
