
An organization has a workforce of 6,123 employees, of which about a thousand work under precarious conditions. It is planned to reduce the staff by 35%. This measure also affects a place with a significant historical debt of the Argentine State to society, related to the cleaning of the Matanza Riachuelo basin, an incomplete process according to the Supreme Court's orders.
An employee with more than 10 years at the General Inspection of Justice (IGJ) laments: "In the union, they tell you that this is what has been voted, but behind the scenes, they negotiate to avoid layoffs." Many contracts have been rescinded, and trained workers have preferred to resign rather than suffer salary reductions due to the elimination of incentives, as in the case of ARCA.
At the AFIP, it is reported that critical areas such as the Subsecretariat of Family Policies have experienced layoffs. Workers feel helpless and bewildered about their job future. Despite a court order, over 400 employees were laid off, adding to the 100 from the previous year, which represents half of the staff of the concerned organization.
At the IGJ, responsible for overseeing and registering companies, workers are experiencing moments of uncertainty and ambiguous promises regarding their job continuity. Some choose to resign and wait to be rehired under new conditions. On the other hand, at ARCA, qualified professionals have opted for voluntary retirement, leaving the institution struggling to replace them.
An economic report indicates that between November 2023 and January 2025, 43,778 public sector jobs have been lost. Moreover, at INTA, an organization dedicated to rural research, permission is required to use a chainsaw, due to the involvement of representatives from rural entities in decision-making, which generates disagreements over cuts and layoffs.
Minister Luis Caputo has become involved in negotiations to accelerate adjustments at INTA, coordinating with representatives from the agricultural sector. The uncertainty and lack of clarity regarding job futures are affecting thousands of public sector workers, compromising their stability and that of their families.
