Despegar and Ternium were the only two notable stocks that showed an increase, with 0.2% and 2.4%, respectively. This situation is framed in the uncertainty caused by Donald Trump's changing tariff policy, which creates instability in financial markets.
During the session, there was strong volatility due to the cautious stance of investors, who are awaiting concrete advances in negotiations between the Argentine Government and the International Monetary Fund. The decline of the New York indices negatively impacted local assets.
In the dollar-denominated bond market, increases of up to 0.7% were recorded, notably Bonar 2038, Global 2029, and Global 2035. In contrast, Bonar 2030 and Global 2041 fell by 0.3%. Regarding country risk, measured by JP Morgan, it decreased by three units, standing at 714 basis points, similar levels to those at the end of 2024.
In the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange, the leading BYMA panel fell 0.9% to 2,270,181.14 points, while the Merval in dollars advanced 0.2% to 1,849.21 points. The most affected stocks were Metrogas, Grupo Supervielle, Loma Negra, and Banco Macro, with declines of up to 5.5%, 3.2%, 2.8%, and 2.4% respectively.
