The Crisis of Over-the-Air Television

Terrestrial television is generally going through a complicated moment, with five of the seven open channels failing to reach an average rating of one point this Sunday. None of them even managed to have an average audience of one hundred thousand viewers. NET and Bravo, belonging to Grupo Perfil, recorded an average of 0.1 during the day, being the ones with the lowest indices. Public Television and América performed a little better, managing to reach 0.6.

Notably, Canal 9 managed to secure a spot on the podium of the day with an average of 0.7, showing a slightly higher performance than the other channels. This scenario reflects the current situation of open television, highlighting the downward trend in audience levels on traditional channels.

In the words of a media specialist: "It is concerning to see how terrestrial television faces difficulties in attracting audiences and staying relevant in a context where digital platforms are gaining more and more ground."
