The Unemployment Benefit is intended for people who have been dismissed without valid cause or whose contract has expired. The requirements vary depending on the type of employment: for dependent workers, it is required to have accumulated at least six months of contributions in the three years prior to dismissal or contract termination; for seasonal or occasional workers, it is required to have worked at least 90 days in the past year and less than 12 months in the three years prior to the end of employment.

Workers over 45 years old can access an additional 6 months of aid, with payments ranging from 50% to 100% of the SMVM.
