In the Argentine economy, financial analyst Salvador Di Stefano, known as the "Blue Guru", shared his perspective on the stability of the dollar at the beginning of 2025. He insisted that, as long as the Government manages to maintain a fiscal surplus, the exchange rate would not experience significant changes throughout the year.
According to Di Stefano, in a scenario where the crawling peg was reduced to 1% monthly and the MEP dollar barely changed since Javier Milei took office, holding dollars would be a serious mistake at present. He emphasized the importance of encouraging savings as a means to attract investments and mentioned that companies would be forced to sell dollars to invest, thereby contributing to exchange rate stability and increasing imports.
The expert currently discouraged investing in dollar-denominated stocks and bonds due to the current economic scenario. In contrast, he recommended investing in pesos, suggesting the acquisition of letters or Lecap for those more sophisticated. In his view, stability in the exchange rate benefits those who choose to save in the national currency.
In this context, Di Stefano stressed that the current government approach seeks to promote savings as a driver of investment and development, marking a change from past eras. His perspective indicates that the stability of the dollar will largely depend on the strength of the fiscal surplus and the decisions made regarding economic policy.
