Bus strike lifted in Buenos Aires

The bus strike in the district has been lifted and all buses will return to operate with their usual services. The Transport Chamber of the Province of Buenos Aires announced the strike due to the non-payment of tariff compensation intended for the sector's salaries, which created a serious situation for transport companies.

In a statement, the Chamber expressed its concern about the complicated situation that transport companies are going through. However, following the deposit of subsidies by the Province in recent hours, the Chamber decided to lift the strike that was scheduled to start next Sunday at midnight.

Transport companies indicated that they were operating with a 45% deficit in their necessary resources for their usual operation, which left them without operational capacity. In light of this situation, they made the tough decision to reduce services to efficiently rationalize and not harm passengers.

Repeatedly, the authorities and the Union of Motor Tramway Workers were alerted about the lack of resources to continue operating. The companies also stated that the lack of updates in operating costs was severely affecting the quality of the service provided.

Finally, it was reported that the deposit of the subsidies scheduled for the following week would take place, contributing to the lifting of the bus strike that was planned for next Sunday.
