ARBA Wins Legal Battle Over Property Tax Dispute

ARBA's legal victory confirms the correct calculation of the Rural Property Tax for 2024, despite opposition claims. It highlights tax compliance among those criticizing the system.

ARBA Wins Legal Battle Over Property Tax Dispute

The Revenue Agency of the Province of Buenos Aires (ARBA) continues to work to ensure compliance with tax regulations, seeking tax equity and generating genuine public resources for the development of the territory. In this regard, ARBA's head, Cristian Girard, emphasized the importance of prioritizing respect for tax laws and dismissing any attempts to subvert the tax order.

In this context, Girard lamented that the opposition has politicized the tax issue, mentioning José Luis Espert and leaders of the PRO, who incited "tax rebellion." He underscored that the recent judicial ruling in favor of ARBA discredited the actions of those who promoted non-compliance with tax obligations.

The legal case focused on the rejection of a protection request presented by the company Agrícola Ganadera La Alpina SA and others, who sought a recalculation of the Rural Property Tax for the year 2024. They argued that legal limits were being broken, and that the tax calculation was erroneous and confiscatory. They also requested a precautionary measure to limit the amount of a fee and the return of alleged overpayments.

The Justice rejected these claims and granted a period of five days to adjust the action according to the corresponding procedures. The foundations of the ruling were based on the report presented by ARBA, which indicated that the tax calculation complied with current regulations, certifying the transparency of the process.

In this scenario, Girard highlighted the paradox of those who incited tax disobedience while being up to date with their tax obligations. He emphasized the importance of promoting order and compliance with tax laws instead of fostering situations of irresponsible chaos.
