Police Find Missing Sister of River Plate Footballer

The Neuquén Police have found Fabiana Edith Muñoz, the sister of River Plate and Argentina national team defender Marcos 'Huevo' Acuña, after a two-day search. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the woman was found early this morning in a zone of cliffs at the foot of a water tank. She received psychological support from health professionals who had participated in the search alongside the provincial police. After being found, Muñoz was transferred to the Zapala Hospital, where she is under observation to undergo a complete medical evaluation and rule out any health complications to allow for her prompt discharge. 'The Province informs that the search operation for Edith Muñoz of Zapala has been deactivated. The woman was found alive this morning by the Police after an extensive search in different areas of Zapala,' the Neuquén government reported, according to the portal La Mañana de Neuquén. They also added: 'The provincial police found the woman, who was intensively sought, at the foot of the water tank, in the cliff area, around 3:25 AM this Sunday.' 'My daughter suffers from schizophrenia, yesterday (Friday) she got lost and we couldn't find her anywhere,' revealed her mother, Sara, in a dialogue with the portal LM Cipolletti. On Saturday, the Neuquén Police issued a missing person alert with the key details of the case and specified that Fabiana was last seen at her home on Antártida Argentina street, number 26, in Zapala. According to the official description, she is of olive skin, has brown hair, dark eyes, and a slim build. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black hat, a green windbreaker, blue jeans, and pink sneakers. Due to her illness, the situation had become serious, as people with this condition can experience severe disorientation, which makes it difficult for them to return home on their own, exposing them to serious dangers. The woman had been missing since Thursday afternoon, and personnel from different departments worked on her search. The report of her disappearance had been filed at the Zapala Women's and Adolescents' Commissariat by her mother. Jessica Acuña, another sister of the River Plate and Argentina national team footballer, participated in the search and criticized the psychiatrists who treat Muñoz at the local Hospital. 'And now where are the psychiatrists from the Zapala hospital, why don't they call now... This could have been avoided if they had done their job properly,' she lashed out on social media while posting an image for a search for her relative. 'I am like this because since October she (Fabiana) has been unwell, on repeated occasions we called the Police, and yet, for the psychiatrist who treats her, she was fine...' she indicated in statements to the portal LM Neuquén.
