The Municipality of Zárate signed an agreement with the Society of Architects of Zárate to begin the process of developing projects aimed at enhancing Plaza Italia and Plaza Mitre, the two most emblematic green spaces in the urban core. According to what was learned by the Argentine News Agency, Mayor Marcelo Matzkin led the meeting, and the agreement aims to advance a comprehensive refurbishment of both plazas, with a first phase focused on building a technical and urban diagnosis. Among the initial planned actions, the project will include surveys of the vegetation and existing elements in the two public spaces, as a basis for defining intervention guidelines. The municipality states that enhancing central plazas is usually key to improving pedestrian coexistence, organizing recreational uses, and strengthening the identity of the civic center, where commercial, cultural, and service activities converge. At this stage, the agreement enables the technical work to design alternatives and criteria for preserving tree cover and urban heritage before moving on to construction and budget decisions. For now, the Executive has not announced execution deadlines, but emphasized that the signed step allows for 'launching' the planning process for two key points in the city.
