A 16-year-old girl, who had been missing since last week, was found safe and sound in the Misiones town of Wanda, located about 50 kilometers from Puerto Iguazú. The girl, LMJ, was the subject of an active missing person report following a complaint filed on the 15th of this month in the city of Morón, in the western part of the Buenos Aires metropolitan area. The operation was carried out in the early morning hours, when a police commission went to the San Martín neighborhood of Wanda following a series of inquiries and investigative tasks carried out by the Missing Persons Division, which established that the minor was in that area. Upon arriving at the home, officers spoke with a woman, a resident of the neighborhood, who confirmed that the teenager was there and provided details about her arrival in the locality. According to her statement, on December 16th, her 20-year-old son arrived at the home accompanied by the minor. After verifying her identity, police confirmed that she had an active missing person report requested by her legal guardian through a complaint filed at the Fourth Police Station of the Morón Judicial Department, as learned by the Argentine News Agency. Finally, the minor was immediately placed under the protection of the staff of the Women's Police Station, and the Justice of the provinces of Buenos Aires and Misiones were brought in, while corresponding proceedings continue to guarantee her protection, accompaniment, and restitution, as determined by the competent authorities.
