Car accident causes leg amputation in baby

A six-month-old baby underwent surgery in which her leg was amputated following a car accident on the road. The little girl was traveling with her parents when the blanket she was wrapped in got caught in one of the wheels, causing her to end up in intensive care.

The incident took place on the night of last Sunday on the SerranĂas Puntanas Highway in Villa Mercedes, San Luis. A couple was riding a 150 cc motorcycle with their six-month-old daughter when the baby's blanket got entangled in one of the vehicle's wheels, causing the driver to lose control and everyone ended up crashing onto the pavement.

Although the parents were injured, it was the baby who suffered the most serious injuries, resulting in the loss of one of her legs. A motorist who witnessed the accident stopped his vehicle to assist the family. Later, a passerby also stopped to help and took them to the Juan Domingo PerĂ³n Regional Polyclinic in Villa Mercedes.

At the medical center, the doctors confirmed the extent of the injuries in the minor. Local authorities have emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and ensuring the safety of children when using motorcycles or other means of transportation.
