The Minister of Security of Buenos Aires, Javier Alonso, is in Villa Gesell supervising the rescue operation at the Dubrovnike Hotel, after the building collapsed while repairs were being made in the basement. Alonso reported that, unfortunately, no one has been rescued so far and uncertainty is increasing.
Alonso indicated that, according to neighbors, at the time of the collapse there were no guests in the hotel, only workers who were accommodated elsewhere in the establishment. It is estimated that between seven and nine people might have been inside, but so far only two of them have been contacted.
"We are focused on rescuing the survivors," declared the minister. Despite the efforts deployed at the site, no one trapped has been rescued yet, which creates great concern among the rescue team and the community in general.
