In Argentina, the Dubrovnik Hotel in Villa Gesell, a historic building in the seaside city, has collapsed. Built in 1986, this hotel is one of the most important in the area and is located in the city center, two blocks from the beach on Avenida Buenos Aires and 1.

The founders, of Croatian nationality, decided to settle on the Argentine Coast, as they found in Villa Gesell a place that reminded them of their homeland. The history of the hotel dates back to the parents of the family, who, after getting married, sought a future in another country, deciding to settle in Argentina to put down roots.

The construction of the building, shaped like a ship in honor of the journey they made decades ago to this continent, was a dream come true after years of sacrifice. The name "Dubrovnik" was chosen in tribute to the town in southern Croatia where the family's woman was born.

The Dubrovnik Hotel had 43 apartment units for two, three, four, and five people, with services such as daily cleaning, wifi, private security, closed garages, barbecue, solarium, and a multifunctional room with cable television. Additionally, it offered a wide buffet for breakfast and other amenities such as its own baking service, hairdryer, and white linens.
