Jonatan Castellano Wins in Viedma's Turismo Carretera

The driver Jonatan Castellano won the Turismo Carretera race at the "Ciudad de Viedma" racetrack in Río Negro. He drove a Dodge Challenger and led the entire competition after quickly overtaking Agustín Canapino's Chevrolet Camaro, who started in the first position. Canapino finished second, followed by Julián Santero in a Ford Mustang, José Manuel Urcera in a Mustang as well, and Marcelo Agrelo with a Toyota in fifth place.

In the race, Castellano took the lead at the first corner, despite Canapino starting from the inside of the front row. Mariano Werner managed to overtake Santero at turn 7 and took third place. However, a transmission failure forced Matías Rossi to retire, prompting the intervention of the safety car to regroup the drivers.

After the restart, Castellano held first place, while Canapino attempted to catch him unsuccessfully. Werner, who was fighting for the podium, retired due to differential problems, allowing Santero to reclaim third position. The top positions in the race remained stable with Castellano flawless in the lead.

Additionally, Agrelo attempted to overtake Santero for third place but was unsuccessful, which allowed Urcera to regain fourth place. Castellano thus secured his first victory since 2021. The next competition will take place in El Calafate, Santa Cruz province, at the Enrique Freile racetrack, following the conclusion of the first date in Viedma. This circuit was where Tobías Martínez took victory at the start of the 2024 championship. Martínez, who previously raced with Torino and now competes with a Toyota, will face a new challenge in the continuation of the championship.
