In the city of Victoria, in the province of Entre Ríos, a group of final year students from the Normal School were involved in an unpleasant incident during the celebrations of the traditional "UPD" on public roads. In a video that recorded the incident, a teenager, situated on a roof alongside another companion, lit a firecracker that ended up exploding and resulted in the complete amputation of his left hand.
The head of the Victoria police department, Martín Tello, explained in statements to Cadena 3 that this type of device must be lit on the ground and then moved away due to the danger of its explosion. The injured minor was taken to Salaverry Hospital, where medical examinations confirmed the amputation of his hand.
"There was an amputation of the hand," Tello indicated. The 16-year-old suffered this serious accident when, during the celebration of the "last first day," he lit the firecracker that exploded.
