Vélez Secures Narrow Victory Over Midland

Vélez defeated Midland in the 32nd round of the Copa Argentina with a score of 1-0 at the Ciudad de Vicente López stadium. The goal that secured the victory came from Braian Romero's leg from the penalty spot during the second half.

In a previous play, a free kick by Agustín Campana nearly became a goal for Midland as it deflected off the right post of Tomás Marchiori. Vélez responded with a dangerous attack led by Romero, whose low shot to the middle opened the scoring.

The expulsion of Maximiliano Rogoski in the second half complicated things for Midland, while Vélez capitalized on a cross from the right that resulted in a penalty when Romero was brought down by goalkeeper Maldonado. Romero himself converted from the spot, securing Vélez's advance to the 16th round.

Coach Joaquín Iturreria had to make strategic changes throughout the match, looking to strengthen his team's defense and attack. Despite Midland's efforts in the final stretch, Vélez managed to maintain its lead and close the match with an important victory that ended a goal drought of over 800 minutes. The next challenge will be against Lanús in the next phase of the competition.
