In a violent attempted robbery in Munro, Vicente López, Silvia Graciela Lepez, 54 years old, was shot in the head in front of her husband, becoming the second homicide in an attempted robbery in the area in less than three months. This tragic incident highlights the concerning wave of violence affecting the province and the City of Buenos Aires.

The event took place at 7:30 PM at the intersection of José Hernández and Independencia, when the couple was returning home after shopping. At least two criminals tried to steal the couple's Chevrolet Tracker truck. The robbers, after failing in their attempt, shot at Lepez, who was seriously injured and died before being able to be taken to a medical center.

Her husband, in a desperate act to get help, went to the Vicente López Municipal Patrol station instead of waiting for the ambulance. After the crime, the vehicles involved were found abandoned in San Martín, where the police recovered the stolen cell phone.

The investigation is being led by Vicente López prosecutor, Gastón Larramendi, with the support of the local Departmental Investigation Subdelegation. It was determined that the criminals, using stolen vehicles, had been following the couple from San Martín.

The murder of Silvia Graciela Lepez reflects the urgent need for effective measures to combat the overwhelming crime in the region. The community demands justice and changes in security policies to stop this chilling wave of violence that keeps citizens as hostages of impunity.
