Turismo Carretera: Canapino Could Clinch Early Title in La Pampa

Buenos Aires, November 15 (NA) — Turismo Carretera returns to the "Provincia de La Pampa" racetrack for its second visit of the year, a venue that has already become a classic for the Copa de Oro. This is where Agustín Canapino could secure an early championship.

According to Agencia Noticias Argentinas, this will be the category's nineteenth presentation in Toay and the seventh consecutive time since 2022 that it hosts two races in a single season. The final race will be this Sunday at 13:30. The 4,148-meter track, known for producing great spectacles, is once again in a crucial spot on the calendar: the penultimate round that determines who will advance to the Coronation Prize.

In this context, all eyes are on one name: Agustín Canapino.

The "Titan" is going through one of the best moments of his career and arrives in La Pampa with a lead that could make him an early champion of the TC for the fifth time this Sunday.

With 155 accumulated points and a dominant streak—he has won all three Copa de Oro dates, four consecutive races, and five of the last six—the Arrecife native is in control of his own destiny: if he leaves Toay with a 67.5-point lead over his closest rival, he will lift the trophy without waiting for the finale in La Plata.

The rest of the contenders arrive in a much more compromised position. Matías Rossi, in second, is 47 points behind and has yet to win a race this year, while drivers like Julián Santero, Mariano Werner, or Otto Fritzler need mandatory wins and near-perfect combinations to stay alive.

From second to fifth place, all are required to win by regulation, and it is only in sixth place that a driver with a win appears, Mauricio Lambiris, though far behind in the points.

In short, only a miracle could prevent Canapino from taking the crown: the only unknown is whether he will do it in Toay or at the Mouras race.

Sunday's Schedule: 1st session: 11:00 Hs. 2nd session: 13:30 to 14:20 Hs. 3rd session: 10:10 Hs. FINAL: 25 laps or a maximum of 50 minutes (10:35 Hs.)
