In Memory of Ricardo Cabrera

At the corner of Avenida República Argentina and El Churrinche, in the San José de Temperley neighborhood, a ceremony of Memory was held in honor of Ricardo Cabrera, who was kidnapped by the last military dictatorship on October 12, 1976.

Ricardo Cabrera began his activism at the age of fifteen in the Peronismo de Base. Later, he became an employee and delegate of Tabacalera Urquiza and the newspaper Democracia, where he played a significant role in union activities. During the de facto government of Lanusse, when the workers took over the newspaper to defend their jobs from closure, his colleagues elected him as their administrator.

Over time, Ricardo Cabrera decided to join the PRT. His wife Celia recalls his anguish upon learning of the tragic events during the Monte Chingolo massacre, known as "El Viejo Bueno."

She also remembers his firm convictions, his struggle, and his teachings.

His youngest daughter, Anahí Cabrera, reaffirmed her father's commitment during the event, raising his flags in the fight for a world with equality and justice.

Ricardo Cabrera Presente now and always!
