
APREVIDE, in collaboration with the personnel from Tribuna Segura, arrested Kevin Ariel Torres, a known barrabrava of Platense, in an operation carried out while he was trying to enter the Arsenal stadium in Sarandí to watch the match between General Lamadrid and Lanús for the Copa Argentina. Torres, who had an outstanding arrest warrant for more than two years, was identified entering with the Lamadrid supporters. After being discovered, he tried to hide in the club's facilities but was eventually captured by the authorities.
The detainee is considered one of the leaders of the Platense barra and his name had previously been linked to investigations into criminal activities related to the fans. In 2018, his name emerged in the context of the arrest of Alejandro Acosta, alias "Viejo Tom," accused of leading a gang that carried out an extortion kidnapping in the City of Buenos Aires. Torres, who already had a criminal record, had managed to evade justice and was on the run with his partner, Maia Jaqueline Frutos, 21 years old.
In that investigation, it was determined that the gang stole cards from car owners' vehicles using signal blockers to access the cars. The criminal group known as "Calamar" monitored members from different gated communities to steal their magnetic access cards. Security cameras captured Kevin Torres entering Santa Bárbara on June 16, 2023, at 8:10 PM in a Volkswagen vehicle, and it was noted that he remained inside the private facilities for two hours.
Lastly, regarding Torres' criminal history, in 2018 his name was linked to the arrest of Alejandro Acosta, alias "Viejo Tom," accused of leading an organized gang that perpetrated an extortion kidnapping in the City of Buenos Aires. The Vicente López gang, composed of Torres, Cristopher Rubén Insaurralde, Matías Nicolás Larrea, and Dana Lucila Antacle, was arrested for having stolen seven properties, including four houses in the Laguna del Sol country club and three houses in the Santa Bárbara neighborhood.
